My form elements from my old RoboHelp project did not import into MadCap Flare

Article #:IMP1004 Product: Flare Version: All

Summary:

Importing RoboHelp files that contains form elements will not be supported in MadCap Flare. Depending on end user demand, the functionality may added in a future release.

Full Description:

Flare does not have any form element editing features. The importing of a RoboHelp project with form elements into Flare will only import the underlying code associated with the form element. Viewing the form elements in the XML Editor is not an option. You will have the ability to edit the code using the Internal Text Editor in Flare, but form elements are not supported at the present time.

Solution:

The importing of the form elements code imports from RoboHelp to Flare, as the code is not modified. To view the code and edit, please follow the steps below.

  1. Go to the Content Explorer.
  2. Select the imported topic that contains the form elements.
  3. Right-click on the topic, as an edit menu will appear.
  4. Select the Open with and Internal Text Editor feature.
  5. The raw XML source code of the topic will open in the XML Editor.
