How to Set the Background Color for the Topic Pane in Outputs

Article #: OUTA1002  Product: Flare   Version: All

Summary:

DotNetHelp, HTMLHelp, and WebHelp outputs are put together with three panes: The toolbar pane, the navigation pane, and the topic pane. The color schemes for these outputs can be set in the Skin files (.flskn), however, the background color for the topic pane has to be set in the topic files' stylesheets.

Solution:

The background color for the topic pane has to be set in the <body> style inside the stylesheets:

  • Locate the stylesheets in Content Explorer. Double click the Stylesheets to bring up the Stylesheet Editor.
  • On the left, under Styles, scroll to "body" and highlight it.
  • On the top right, under Show, choose "Property Groups".
  • On the bottom right, under Properties, choose to expand "Background", and the background-color can be set there.

Be sure that all the stylesheets associated with the topic files have to have the background-color set up in order for the background color to work consistently in the output.
