Insert an Image Popup

 Article #: XML1006  Product: Flare   Version: 1.x

Summary:

In Version 1.x, there isn't an option in any of the insert routines for image popups. There is a workaround that can be done.

Solution:

  • Firstly, you have to do an Insert Image on any topic file just so that the image file will be copied into this directory: Content\Resources\Images\
(This step is only for you to have the image file show up in the Content Explorer. You can do it any other way you want, as long as the image shows up in the Content Explorer. You can just copy and paste the image file into the Content folder in the Windows Explorer if you prefer.)
  • Then, you go to the Content Explorer, open Resources folder then open the Images folder so that you can see the image file that you want to use.
  • Double click the image file so that the file opens up as a tab in the XML Editor.
  • Then you go back to the topic file you were working on. Highlight the link text. Go to Insert -> Insert Topic Popup.
  • Choose "Open Document" on the left. Click the image file on the right. For Target Frame, choose Popup Window. Then hit OK. You're done!
