ServiceNow Timeout During Publish
| Article #: CON0001F | Product: Flare Desktop | Version: N/A |
Summary:
Users have reported the following error when publishing projects to ServiceNow, particularly when the process exceeds 30 minutes:
“Publish failed: Forbidden: ‘User Not Authorized: Failed API level ACL Validation’”
To resolve this issue, the ServiceNow configuration must be updated. Specifically, the Access Token lifespan should be increased to a higher value (measured in seconds) to prevent the token from expiring during longer publishing operations.
Solution:
Update the Access Token Lifespan in ServiceNow
-
Navigate to:
Inbound Integration → Application Registry
-
Locate and select the MadCap Application.
-
Open Advanced Options (Optional).
-
Update the Access Token Lifespan value to 90 minutes (5,400 seconds).
-
Click Save to apply the changes.
