ServiceNow Timeout During Publish

Article #: CON0001F  Product: Flare Desktop   Version: N/A

Summary:

Users have reported the following error when publishing projects to ServiceNow, particularly when the process exceeds 30 minutes:

Publish failed: Forbidden: ‘User Not Authorized: Failed API level ACL Validation’”

To resolve this issue, the ServiceNow configuration must be updated. Specifically, the Access Token lifespan should be increased to a higher value (measured in seconds) to prevent the token from expiring during longer publishing operations.

Solution:

Update the Access Token Lifespan in ServiceNow

  1. Navigate to:

    Inbound Integration → Application Registry

  2. Locate and select the MadCap Application.

  3. Open Advanced Options (Optional).

  4. Update the Access Token Lifespan value to 90 minutes (5,400 seconds).

  5. Click Save to apply the changes.
